ByLocal Student Ambassador Program

Parental/Guardian Consent Form

I, the undersigned parent or legal guardian, hereby grant permission for my child to participate in the ByLocal Student Ambassador Program. I have read and understood the program description and acknowledge the following:

1. Program Purpose

The ByLocal Student Ambassador Program provides students with opportunities to engage in community activities, create content highlighting local businesses, gain real-world experience, and support the mission of empowering local commerce.

2. Participation

My child may act as a content creator, producing short videos about local businesses, services, and events.

Participation is voluntary, and my child is free to withdraw from the program at any time.

My child will follow program requirements, including creating positive, respectful, and community-focused content.

I understand that ByLocal does not provide supervision or assume responsibility for my child’s safety and well-being during the recording of videos or the creation of content. The supervision, safety, and participation of my child are the sole responsibility of the parent(s) or legal guardian(s).

3. Use of Image, Name, and Likeness

I authorize ByLocal, its partners, and participating local businesses to use my child’s image, name, voice, and likeness in photos, videos, and other media created as part of the program.
These materials may be edited, published, and distributed on ByLocal platforms, social media, promotional materials, and other channels, without compensation beyond what is defined in the program (revenue share from video sales).

4. Compensation Model

I understand that:

• Local businesses set the price of each video.

• My child will receive 50% of the final approved amount only if the video is purchased by the business.

• ByLocal retains 50% to cover editing, negotiation, and distribution.

• No payment is guaranteed, and income will vary depending on business participation.

5. Liability Release

I release ByLocal, its officers, employees, and community partners from any claims, demands, or liabilities arising from my child’s voluntary participation in the program, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.

6. No Employment Relationship

I understand that participation in the ByLocal Student Ambassador Program does not create an employment relationship. It is an educational and community engagement initiative.

7. Governing Law

This agreement will be governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey.
